Conducting
As Director of Music at Wallingford Parish Church Judith conducts a senior and a junior choir, which come together for weddings, special services, concerts, and choir tours. Recent tours have included weekends at St Albans, Norwich and Coventry Cathedrals and a week’s residency at Durham Cathedral. She has provided a choir for Christ Church, Oxford, at short notice, and will take Wallingford Parish Church Choir there for a 4-day residency in 2025.

Work with the junior choir has included popular outreach events with local primary schools and a collaboration with Benson Choral Society. Judith has also led workshops in large choral works such as the Requiems by Fauré and Mozart, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and opera choruses.

In programming music for worship, she aims to include a broad range of musical styles and perform more pieces by women composers. She is keen for her singers to connect music to its time. To mark the 400th anniversary of the death of William Byrd, she devised and conducted a service blending music from the reigns of different Tudor monarchs, highlighting the challenges that composers faced in a turbulent world. Performed on Remembrance Sunday, it connected us to those living under repressive regimes today and raised funds for Amnesty International.
Judith is the Musical Director of Chorus Amicorum, which meets each summer for a week of cathedral singing. Previous residencies include Ripon Cathedral and Beverley Minster. This year’s visit to Lincoln brought an opportunity to highlight the music of Byrd and Taverner, as well as marking the 100th anniversary of the death of Stanford.

As an associate conductor of Priory Voices, Judith has conducted music for weekend services in York Minster and the cathedrals of Wells, Ely and Norwich.

Judith also occasionally deputises for conductors of local groups, such as Thames Consort, Chorovino and Langtree Sinfonia.
